Women in the construction industry
For MadiganGill everyday is Women’s Equality Day, not just the one day a year. We believe that equality and opportunity are key for not just attracting more women into construction, but for a better business generally.
Traditionally, construction is a very male dominate industry and in 2023, women in the UK construction industry accounted for just 15% of the workforce, with only one in seven construction workers being women.
In order to change this annomoly attracting more women to a career in construction is essential if this issue and the skills shortage is to be closed. The fact is women bring a diverse range of skills which will benefit everyone in the industry and enrich the construction sector.
At MadiganGill we take the approach of finding the best people for the job, regardless of gender and becuase of this we are pleased to see a growing number of women joining us.
