A CAREER IN CONSTRUCTION

Date posted 7-03-2024

This week is National Careers Week, a celebration of careers guidance across the UK, and in its ongoing spirit, we are continuing our programme of engaging with education and local communities, supporting young people, and promoting careers within our industry.

The construction industry is a great place for a career and has depth, inclusiveness, and diversity that unfortunately is not always portrayed well enough in schools and education.

Construction offers a huge variety of jobs on-site such as Traffic Marshall's, Hoist and Crane Operators and Banksman to off-site roles such as Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Commercial Assistants, and plenty more.

Amongst our colleagues from MadiganGill who visit various schools, colleges and youth clubs, Naz Toropdar, Head of Group CSR, has recently volunteered with Local Village Network alongside @Wates Group colleagues for the second year on the Mayor of London’s Design Future London project.

This year, we also supported students from @Bishop Challoner Catholic School in London Borough of Tower Hamlets, participating on the “Amplify Me” programme.

We continue to support the work of our partners who assist young people in NEET which is one of the organisations we are helping with our step forward programme launching later this month. Keep an eye out for this programme.

If you, or someone you know are looking for a career in construction, please send your cv through to us.

For any schools, collages or youth organisations looking for employers to partner with on employability programmes, or simply want someone to come in and speak to young people we would be keen to help, so please do get in touch: enquiries@madigangill.co.uk
