Our Client is a leading multi-disciplinary construction contractor renowned for delivering high-quality, sustainable, and innovative construction solutions.

Job Purpose: The Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs relating to mechanical and electrical engineering projects on site temporary services, from the initial calculations to the final figures. This includes ensuring that the projects are completed within the financial constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets and estimates for M&E site temporary services.
    • Conduct cost analysis and monitor cost variations.
    • Value completed work and arrange payments.
    • Ensure timely submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
  2. Procurement:

    • Assist in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers.
    • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
    • Negotiate and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
  3. Project Coordination:

    • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are executed as per the financial plan.
    • Provide advice on contractual claims.
    • Work closely with the project team to monitor and control project expenditure.
  4. Reporting:

    • Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements.
    • Report on the financial status of projects to senior management.
    • Maintain detailed records of all financial aspects of the project.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with the company's financial regulations and procedures.
    • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
    • Ensure all work adheres to legal standards and company policies.


  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent is preferred.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on M&E services.
  • Proven experience in managing site temporary services.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT.
  • Experience in cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting.


  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
